FOOD CONTACT APPROVED FOIL IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY

FOOD CONTACT APPROVED FOIL IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY

All materials that come into contact with food must meet stringent hygienic requirements, and producers are obliged to take care of the safety and hygiene of the product. Most surfaces that come into contact with produced or transported food are disposable. Using and then washing reusable equipment would be ineffective or unprofitable, which is why products made of foil are used.

APPLICATION

APPLICATION

The potential of the film in the food industry is huge, and the areas of application are unlimited, because it is a versatile raw material. It can be widely used in many consumer areas and in industry. It is also irreplaceable in the processes of maintaining food and other goods supply chains. It is a proven material that does not deform when working at different temperatures. A big advantage is also high tightness and water resistance. It is an effective barrier against odors, liquids and various contaminants. However, the film in the food industry must have a certificate allowing it to come into contact with food.

FOOD CONTACT

FOOD CONTACT

Before foil products are released for circulation and are certified for direct contact with food,

they must undergo laboratory tests confirming their safety and compliance with national reg

ulations and EU standards. A product that meets the regulations of the European Regulation 1375/2004/CE and EU 10/2011 (these are restrictive requirements applicable in all European Union countries) may use the FOOD CONTACT symbol, i.e. it is allowed to come into contact with unpackaged food. This means a guarantee of no migration of plastic particles to the products, which could change the composition and properties of the product, and even threaten the health of the consumer.

TYPES OF FILM FOR THE FOOD INDUSTRY

The food industry uses several types of foil with FOOD CONTACT certificates, depending on the intended use:

Polyethylene film [PE] – resistant to changing climatic conditions, easy to dispose of, impermeable to odors and water vapor. It is susceptible to welding, to the action of acids, bases and salts. During the production of polyethylene film, different pressures can be used, resulting in films with different densities – LPDE, MDPE and HDPE. LDPE (low density) film is soft and transparent, tear-resistant due to its high flexibility. It can be used at temperatures from -50oC to +85oC. It is odorless and physiologically inert, permeable to gases and slightly permeable to water vapour. HDPE is high-density polyethylene, which is duller (less transparent) but more durable. It can be used at temperatures from -50oC to +110oC.

Polyethylene films are used in the food industry for storing or transporting fresh products, or for the production of elements of clothing to protect the employee, which must be waterproof.

PLASTIC BAG FOR EURO CONTAINERS E2 K-R80

PLASTIC BAG FOR EURO CONTAINERS E2 K-R80

Made of high-quality film produced by GLOBAL FOOD HYGIENE. The K-R80 bag uses a flat envelope seal – no folds where moisture, ice, fragments of stored products and other contaminants can accumulate. Perfect for keeping the product hygienic.

ROLL APRON

ROLL APRON

A waterproof foil apron in a roll, designed and manufactured by GLOBAL FOOD HYGIENE – it is waterproof, durable, antistatic. Worn around the neck with a tie on the back. Its main advantages are: longer (50 cm), wider (9 cm) strings, small neckline, wide shoulders. The product is made of high quality LDPE foil.

Polypropylene film [PP]

Polypropylene film [PP] – most often used for the production of products in the form of tapes, sleeves, half-sleeves or sheets. It is chemically resistant, especially to acids. It retains its properties at temperatures from -80 oC to +140 oC or even 170 oC.

KOSMO APRONfartuch kitel kosmonaut

The KOSMO smock consists of several products: the upper part is made of polypropylene (PP) and has a protective function, and thanks to the fibrous structure it allows air flow and absorbs sweat. At the front of the coat and sleeves, a combination of two materials was used: polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), creating a waterproof layer. This solution is used in the construction of the coat in the elements most exposed to moisture and dirt. The unique ultrasonic welding method allows you to connect two different foils in a durable and tight manner.

Chlorinated polyethylene [CPE]

  1. Chlorinated polyethylene [CPE] – is a type of polymer film, most often used for protective and insulating clothing. Such polyethylene is resistant to various chemical compounds, in addition, it is flexible and has antistatic properties.

PE/CPE SHOE COVER

Made of two parts: the upper one made of polypropylene and the lower one made of a combination of foil and polypropylene.

Polyurethane / Thermoplastic polyurethane [PU / TPU]

Polyurethane / Thermoplastic polyurethane [PU / TPU] – this material is highly resistant to chemicals, grease, blood, some acids, abrasion and has good resistance to bending and tearing. It is an excellent insulator.

TPU APRON

Polyurethane apron, reusable, characterized by high durability, washability and resistance to cooking oils. Fully waterproof, antibacterial and antifungal, used in temperatures up to -65oC.

PRODUCTION AND QUALITY CONTROL OF GLOBAL FOOD HYGIENE

PRODUCTION AND QUALITY CONTROL OF GLOBAL FOOD HYGIENE

The GLOBAL FOOD HYGIENE production department has developed its own unique recipe for polyethylene film, from which it produces extremely durable products for the food industry and more.

Only safe, phthalate-free plasticizers are used in production.

GLOBAL FOOD HYGIENE has two own extruders for the production of film, i.e. high-class equipment for the production of blown film. This makes the company sell as many as 2 million aprons a month and is the largest producer of plastic aprons in Poland. It also serves foreign clients. Employees of the largest food processing plants appreciate the quality of products and use GFH products.

In order for the film and its products to be of the highest quality and meet the expectations of users, quality control is carried out at every stage of production. From the verification of the raw material, through the control of the semi-finished product (i.e. foil) and the final product.

ECOLOGY

ECOLOGY

Disposable products made of foil (due to care for the natural environment) should be disposed of, and one of the major obstacles in the food industry is the too high level of organic dirt. This is most often the case with disposable food storage packaging, such as ordinary bags for shipping containers. A lot of impurities remain in their folds, especially during production in the meat industry: moisture, plasma, fragments of the product.

The answer is GLOBAL FOOD HYGIENE bags with a flat envelope seal. Thanks to this, the bag does not have folds and folds where moisture and dirt can accumulate. This makes it easier to dispose of and is ideal for maintaining the highest level of food hygiene.

In addition to aprons and K-welded bags for E2 and E3 containers, GLOBAL FOOD HYGIENE also produces sleeves, half-sleeves, foil sheets, dividers, hoods for pallets and foil tapes. Soon it is planned to introduce a premium product – Sleeve PRO sleeves – which will be a response to the expectations of the most demanding customers.
